A wire crate for housing an animal, comprising a top panel, a bottom panel, a front panel, a back panel, and a pair of side panels oppositely disposed from one another, and an opening defined in one of the front panel, back panel, or side panels, the opening configured to provide access to the interior of the crate. The wire crate further comprising at least one U-shaped track coupled to a side of the defined opening and a door slidably coupled to the at least one U-shaped track, wherein the door slides along the at least one U-shaped track between an open position and a closed position.
