Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung mindestens eines Cyclohexanoletherderivats der Formel I als antimikrobieller Wirkstoff oder als Anti-Akne-, Antischuppen-, Deodorant- oder Antitranspirantwirkstoff, Zubereitungen enthaltend diese Verbindungen, sowie spezielle Cyclohexanoletherderivate.Use of substituted cyclohexanol ether derivatives (I) as an antimicrobial active substance, is claimed. Use of substituted cyclohexanol ether derivatives of formula (I) as an antimicrobial active substance, is claimed. R1-R5 : H, OH, OCOCH 3, O(CH 2CH 2O) nH, halo, 1-20C alkyl (optionally substituted by OH) or 1-20C O-alkyl n : 1-20 and R6 : 1-20C alkyl (optionally substituted by OH) or -(CH 2CH 2O) nH. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a formulation comprising (I) and at least one carrier (2) a composition comprising (I) and at least one antioxidant (3) preparing the formulation, comprising mixing (I) with the carrier and (4) 4-(2-hydroxy-ethoxy)-cyclohexanol, 2-(4-methoxy-cyclohexyloxy)-ethanol and 2-tert-butyl-4-methoxy-cyclohexanol. [Image] ACTIVITY : Antibacterial Antiseborrheic Dermatological. The antibacterial activity of (I) was tested against Candida albicans (strain ATCC 10231). The results showed that 2-cyclohexyloxy-ethanol (2% in water-ethanol mixture) decreased colony forming units from 6x 10 3> to 0. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
