The use of a USP7 inhibitor as an anti-inflammatory agent in the treatment of acute or chronic inflammation is described. The USP7 inhibitor can be a gene knockdown tool, for example a siRNA molecule, an antibody, or a potent small molecule inhibitor of USP7. The USP7 inhibitor prevents de-ubiquitination of NF-kB by USP7 while bound to target gene promoters, thereby decreasing NF-kB transcriptional activity and reducing the expression of pro-inflammatory genes.Linvention concerne lutilisation dun inhibiteur dUSP7 en tant quagent anti-inflammatoire dans le cadre du traitement dune inflammation aiguë ou chronique. Linhibiteur dUSP7 peut être un outil de désactivation des gènes, par exemple une molécule dARNsi, un anticorps ou une puissante petite molécule inhibitrice dUSP7. Linhibiteur dUSP7 empêche la désubiquitination de NF-kB par USP7 lorsquil est lié aux promoteurs du gène cible, ce qui se traduit par une baisse de lactivité transcriptionnelle de NF-kB et par une atténuation de lexpression des gènes pro-inflammatoires.
