The present invention provides a novel and useful in vivo imaging agent to determine the presence of mycobacteria (mycobacteria) using in vivo imaging methods. A method for obtaining an in vivo imaging agent of the invention using the precursor compounds and the precursor compounds, useful in the synthesis of in vivo imaging agents of the invention are also provided by the present invention.
