The present invention provides a compact, easily portable sterilizer using UV radiations for clinical or surgical instruments exemplified by endodontic files etc. The said compact sterilizer has a specially designed mounting stand with perforations adaptably suitable for holding these delicate instruments and exposing the requied operative parts thereof to UV radiations for sterilization. The steriliser provided by the present invention is compact, highly efficient, free of corrosion, easily portable and very economical as compared to the conventional autoclaving. It is also more safe and user friendly for the medical practitioners as it can be used side by side the operating area. It provides a highly convenient and economical method of sterilizing the endodontic instruments.
