PURPOSE: An antifungal composition containing tomato liquid which is prepared by fermenting tomato with bacteria which cause soft rot, and a use thereof are provided to ensure excellent antifungal effect. CONSTITUTION: An antifungal composition contains tomato liquid which is prepared by fermenting tomato with bacteria which cause soft rot, as an active ingredient. The bacteria belong to Pectobacterium species. A method for preventing fungi comprises a step of treating the fungi with the composition. The fungi are candida including C. albicans and C. glabrata.
