Catheter device comprising a catheter hub (2) in which a valve member (7) is disposed, a needle (9) fixed in a needle hub (11), the needle extending through the valve member (7) in the catheter hub in a ready position, and a tubular receptacle (8) in which the needle hub (11) is displaceably guided and biased by a spring (13) in a proximal direction relative to the receptacle (8), wherein the needle hub (11) is releasably held in the ready position in the receptacle (8) against the force of the spring (13).
