PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin having excellent sense of use while having sufficient moisturizing effect.SOLUTION: There is provided an external preparation for skin which comprises a cellulose nanofiber and a polyhydric alcohol, wherein the value of the ratio of the cellulose nanofiber to the polyhydric alcohol, which is the content ratio (mass ratio) of the cellulose nanofiber to the polyhydric alcohol, is 0.1 or more and 250 or less and the cellulose nanofiber preferably satisfies the following conditions: (A) having a number average fiber diameter of 2 nm or more and 500 nm or less (B) having an average aspect ratio of 50 or more and 1000 or less: and (C) having a cellulose I type crystal structure.SELECTED DRAWING: None
