PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oral phosphorous adsorbent which is free from the toxicity and the side effects the conventional oral phosphorous adsorbents have and exhibits a high phosphorous adsorption ability in a wide pH range from an acidic region to a weak alkaline region.SOLUTION: The oral phosphorous adsorbent contains a sulfuric acid-containing titanium oxide-like hydrate of which the content of the sulfate group (SO4) is 10-20 wt.% on a dry basis.
