An ultrasound system and a method of operating the system are disclosed. The ultrasound system detects a peak signal from a signal transceiver for transmitting each of a preset number of ultrasound waves to an object at different angles, and an echo signal corresponding to each of the preset number of ultrasound waves, and detects a peak signal from each echo signal. The signal processing unit detects the bladder state information based on the first direction dilatation degree of the bladder and the second direction dilatation degree of the bladder based on the first direction dilatation degree.초음파 시스템 및 그 시스템의 동작 방법이 개시된다. 본 초음파 시스템은 기설정된 개수의 초음파 각각을 서로 다른 각도로 대상체에 송신하는 신호 송수신부와, 기설정된 개수의 초음파 각각에 대응되는 에코 신호로부터 피크 신호를 검출하고, 각 에코 신호로부터 검출된 피크 신호를 기초로 방광의 제1 방향 팽창도와 방광의 제2 방향 팽창도를 검출하며, 제1 방향 팽창도와 제2 방향 팽창도를 기초로 방광 상태 정보를 검출하는 신호 처리부를 포함한다.
