The invention relates to an apparatus for releasing deployment of a therapeutic device within vasculature of a patient. The apparatus includes an elongated flexible pusher member having an interior lumen, a first connector member formed from a moulded thermoplastic material and mounted to the elongated, flexible pusher member, the first connector member taking the form of an induction ring. There is also included an elongated second connector member connected to the therapeutic device undetachably connected the first connecting member, the elongated second connector member thereby connecting a therapeutic device to the pusher member for placement of the therapeutic device within the vasculature, the second connector member having a severable portion which is disposed within the elongated, flexible pusher member, this severable portion is capable of being broken by heating. The induction ring provides a heat source disposed within the interior lumen of the pusher member that severs the severable portion of the second connector member, thereby releasing the therapeutic device.
