The abovementioned portion of surface (10) is covered with a surface sealing (2) which is designed to dissolve within about 30 seconds when inserting the implant (1) in the body lumen, such that this portion of surface (10) is exposed to the body lumen. The present invention also relates to a method of manufacturing an implant (1) as above described, comprising the steps of obtaining an implant (1) with a surface (10); providing at least a portion of such surface (10) with target characteristics; and covering such at least a portion of surface (10) with a surface sealing (2) to preserve the target characteristics.
