Ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines funktionalisierten Implantats, insbesondere eines Dentalimplantats, ist vorgesehen, wobei zunächst ein Substrat für das Implantat bereitgestellt wird und wobei eine hochporöse, hydrophile Beschichtung aufgebracht wird, die mindestens eines der folgenden Materialien zur Funktionalisierung enthält: Zirkon- oder Titan oder Zirkon- oder Titan-Legierung, Zirkon- oder Titanoxid, Calciumphosphat, Calciumtitanat oder Calciumzirkonat. Ferner ist ein funktionalisiertes Implantat, insbesondere Dentalimplantat, vorgesehen.A method for producing a functionalized implant, in particular a dental implant, is provided, first of all providing a substrate for the implant and applying a highly porous, hydrophilic coating which contains at least one of the following materials for functionalization: zirconium or titanium or zirconium - or titanium alloy, zirconium or titanium oxide, calcium phosphate, calcium titanate or calcium zirconate.
