The present invention relates to a method for the production of a (poly)hydroxylated pentacyclic triterpene composition including a 3-O-p-coumaroyl ester of tormentic acid from a plant suspension cell culture, to a pharmaceutical composition comprising at least 3-O-p-coumaroyl ester of tormentic acid for a use in the prevention and/or the treatment of trypanosomiasis, optionally in admixture with other (poly)hydroxylated pentacyclic triterpenes, and to 3-O-p-coumaroyl ester of tormentic acid for its use as an antiparasitic agent for the prevention and/or the treatment of trypanosomiasis, optionally in admixture with other (poly)hydroxylated pentacyclic triterpenes.La présente invention concerne un procédé de production d'une composition de triterpène pentacyclique (poly)hydroxylé comprenant un ester 3-O-p-coumaroylique d'acide tormentique à partir d'une culture de cellules végétales en suspension, une composition pharmaceutique comprenant au moins l'ester 3-O-p-coumaroylique d'acide tormentique pour une utilisation dans la prévention et/ou le traitement de la trypanosomiase, éventuellement en mélange avec d'autres triterpènes pentacycliques (poly)hydroxylés, et l'ester 3-O-p-coumaroylique d'acide tormentique pour son utilisation en tant qu'agent antiparasitaire pour la prévention et/ou le traitement de la trypanosomiase, éventuellement en mélange avec d'autres triterpènes pentacycliques (poly)hydroxylés.
