Systems and methods for effecting bariatric procedures are disclosed. Each system includes an instrument, a control valve and, optionally, a suction controller. The instrument is in the form of an elongated, flexible sizing tube having a distal end portion including a plurality of apertures. The control valve enables suction to be applied to the patients stomach via the apertures to drain gastric fluids and to bring adjacent portions of the patients stomach into engagement with the sizing tube to provide a visually perceptible delineation line along which a portion of the stomach may be resected, sealed and tested.Cette invention concerne des systèmes et des méthodes permettant de procéder à une chirurgie bariatrique, chaque système comprenant un instrument, une vanne de commande et, éventuellement, un contrôleur de succion. Linstrument est sous la forme dun tube de dimensionnement allongé, flexible ayant une partie dextrémité distale comportant une pluralité douvertures. La vanne de commande permet dexercer une succion sur lestomac du patient par lintermédiaire des ouvertures pour drainer les sucs gastriques et damener des parties adjacentes de lestomac du patient en contact avec le tube de dimensionnement de façon à créer une ligne de démarcation visuellement perceptible le long de laquelle une partie de lestomac peut être réséquée, scellée et testée.
