PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the effect of a filter having a conventional honeycomb structure and the effect of a coating containing wood charcoal powder applied onto the filter (effect of wood charcoal) over a long period of time while utilizing the effects.

SOLUTION: The air cleaning apparatus is provided with a honeycomb-like filter having a cross-section of honeycomb structure, formed with a plurality of penetrating ventilation paths and having the coating containing the wood charcoal powder applied onto the inner wall surface of the ventilation paths, wherein either one or both of a generator or a grounding electrode are connected to the honeycomb-like filter, consequently the effect of the wood charcoal is maintained over a long period of time.
