Process to prepare seasoning cubes, the cubes comprising at least 35 wt.%, and less than 85 wt.%, based on the mass of the cubes, of crystalline ingredients comprising at least one of salt, monosodium glutamate and sugar and further comprising at least 5 wt.% and less than 35 wt.%, based on the mass of the cubes, of non-crystalline ingredients comprising at least starch, at least 5 wt.%, and less than 35 wt.%, based on the mass of the cubes of at least one of the group of fat, liquid polyol and water, the process comprising the steps of a) mixing at least part of the non-crystalline ingredients with the at least one of the group of fat, liquid polyol and water, b) granulating the product resulting from step (a), wherein at least 80 wt.% of the resulting mass is in a granular form, c) mixing at least part of the product resulting from step (b) with at least part of the crystalline ingredients, d) shaping the mixture resulting from step (c) to cubes or tablets.
