PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide dosage forms useful for improving health conditions of cardiovascular and/or metabolic health of patients, particularly patients suffering from type 2 diabetes, and methods of making the same.SOLUTION: Provided is a solid dosage form comprising an active component and at least one of croscarmellose sodium or microcrystalline cellulose, where the active component is crystalline anhydrous (2S,3R,4R,5S,6R)-2-(4-chloro-3-(4-ethoxybenzyl)phenyl)-6-(methylthio)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-3,4,5-triol. The pyran compound being the active component acts as a dual inhibitor of sodium-glucose cotransporters 1 and 2 (dual SGLT1/2 inhibitor). In certain embodiments, the solid dosage form further comprises a second therapeutic agent, which is an anti-diabetic agent, an anti-hyperglycemic agent, a lipid lowering agent, an anti-obesity agent, an anti-hypertensive agent or an appetite suppressant.
