The invention further relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising an effective amount of compounds of formula II and methods for treating or preventing multiple sclerosis. The compositions may be formulated for oral, buccal, rectal, topical, transdermal, transmucosal, intravenous or parenteral administration, as a syrup, or for injection. Such compositions may be used in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and other inflammatory diseases.
