Disclosed is a method of preparing a personal care composition, comprising the steps: (1) preparing a hot oil phase comprising the surfactant and the high melting point fatty compound (2) preparing a cold aqueous phase comprising the aqueous carrier and (3) mixing the oil phase and the aqueous phase to form an emulsion wherein the mixing step (3) comprises the following detailed steps: (3-1) feeding either of the oil phase or the aqueous phase into a high shear field having an energy density of 1.0x102 J/m3 or more (3-2) feeding the other phase directly to the field and (3-3) forming an emulsion.
