The present invention relates to an insecticidal composition comprising a trisiloxane surfactant and a matrix forming agent and capable of controlling pests and pathogens using a physical mode of action. Thus, in one aspect, the present disclosure provides an insecticidal composition for controlling pests and pathogens in a physical mode of action. The composition comprises a trisiloxane surfactant and a matrix forming agent. The composition may form a gel matrix or a membrane matrix. The trisiloxane surfactant may be selected from the group consisting of Silwet L-77, Silwet 408, Break-Thru S-240 and Silibase 2848. The matrix forming agent of the insecticidal composition is selected from the group consisting of chitosan salts and sol-gel precursors.
