A hay net 10 comprises a mesh bag 20； the bag 20 having a securing member 22 at a first position 14 and a mouth 16 formed at a second position 12； thefirst position 14 being spaced from the second position 12, wherein an elasticated strap 30 is secured to the bag 20 adjacent the first position 14 and adjacent the second position 12. The elasticated strap 30 is preferable a fastening element which passes through a plurality of loops at the mouth 16 of the bag 20 so as to close the mouth 16. The strap 30 may include attachment means in the form of a clip 38 at its end.
