The invention relates to a device for holding a sanitary article to bedisposed of, particularly a women's' tampon, comprising a receptacle (1) madeof a recyclable material. A holding space (3) for holding the hygiene articleto be disposed of, and a supply space (4), which is separate from the holdingspace (3) and which holds wrappings for accommodating the sanitary article tobe disposed of, are formed in said receptacle. A closeable insertion opening(6), through which the sanitary article can be inserted into the holding space(3), and a removal opening, through which the wrappings can be removed, areformed in a wall (9) of the container (1).
