The disclosure is directed to a method for implanting a medical device proximate to a target tissue site within an occipital region of a patient, such as proximate to an occipital nerve or a trigeminal nerve. The method comprises introducing an implant tool into a patient to define an insertion path to the target tissue site. The implant tool includes a shape memory cannula and a malleable needle at least partially disposed within an inner lumen of the cannula. The shape of the needle may be changed to accommodate different anatomical structures/features of the patient. Upon withdrawal of the needle from the cannula, the cannula may change shape, thereby changing the shape of the insertion path.Linvention concerne un procédé dimplantation de dispositif médical à proximité dun site de tissu cible à lintérieur dune région occipitale dun patient, telles quà proximité dun nerf occipital ou du trijumeau. Ce procédé consiste à introduire un outil pour implant dans le corps dun patient pour définir un trajet dinsertion vers le site de tissu cible. Cet outil pour implant comprend une canule à mémoire de forme et une aiguille malléable placée au moins partiellement dans une lumière intérieure de la canule. La forme de laiguille peut être modifiée pour sadapter à différentes structures/caractéristiques anatomiques du patient. Lors du retrait de laiguille hors de la canule, cette canule peut changer de forme, modifiant ainsi la forme du trajet dinsertion.
