PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical guide wire inserted into a narrow part of a small hole diameter, high in bending rigidity, and excellent in insertion property and torque transmission.SOLUTION: The medical guide wire includes a coil spring 20 provided on the outer periphery of a distal end side small diameter part 11 of a core wire 10. The coil spring 20 has: an end-side small diameter part 21； a first tapered part 22； a middle diameter part 23 having a coil outer diameter larger than the coil outer diameter of the end side small diameter part 21； a second tapered part 24； and a rear-end side large diameter part 25 having the coil outer diameter larger than the coil outer diameter of the middle diameter part 23. A close coiling part 201 includes the end-side small diameter part 21, the first tapered part 22, a middle diameter part 23 and the second tapered part 24. A sparse winding part 202 includes the rear-end side large diameter part 25. An end part of the end side small diameter part 21, a rear-end part of the second tapered part 24 and a rear-end part of the rear-end side large diameter part 25 are fixed by solder onto the outer periphery of the distal end side small diameter part 11 of the core wire 10.
