Provided are: a copolymer for rheological or cosmetic compositions and a composition thereof, and methods of making and using the same. Said copolymer comprises a) a first acrylic ester as monomer A, said monomer A being a branched acrylic ester； b) at least one further acrylic ester as monomer B, said monomer B being a linear acrylic ester； c) a cyclic N-vinyl amide as monomer C； d) at least one compound comprising a radically polymerizable &alpha；.&bgr；-ethylenically un-saturated double bond and at least one cationic and/or cationogenic moiety said compound being monomer D； e) at least one monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid as monomer E； with the monomer B in its polymerized form having a glass transition temperature of 24° C. or lower and making at most one third of the weight amount of monomer A.본 발명은 유동학적 또는 화장적 조성물을 위한 공중합체, 이의 제조 방법, 이의 조성물 및 상기 조성물의 제조 방법에 관한 것이다. 또한 본 발명의 범주 내에 있는 것은 공중합체 또는 이의 조성물의 선택된 용도이다. 상기 공중합체는 하기 성분을 포함한다:a)단량체 A 로서 첫번째 아크릴 에스테르, 상기 단량체 A 는 분지형 아크릴 에스테르임；b)단량체 B 로서 하나 이상의 추가의 아크릴 에스테르, 상기 단량체 B 는 선형 아크릴 에스테르임；c)단량체 C 로서 시클릭 N-비닐 아미드；d)라디칼 중합가능한 α.β-에틸렌성 불포화 이중 결합 및 하나 이상의 양이온성 및/또는 양이온생성성 일부분을 포함하는 하나 이상의 화합물, 상기 화합물은 단량체 D 임；e)단량체 E 로서 하나 이상의 모노에틸렌성 불포화 카르복실산；중합된 형태로의 단량체 B 는 24 ℃ 이하의 유리 전이 온도를 갖고 단량체 A 의 중량 양의 최대 1/3 을 구성함.
