Disclosed is a cognitive platform configured to assess and/or enhance an individual's cognitive performance based on performing one or more navigation tasks within an environment. A first challenge is presented that requires an individual to rely on environment-centric navigation capabilities to navigate within the environment based on a first set of views of a portion of the environment represented in a user interface. A second task is presented that requires individuals to rely on their ability to navigate in their own environment.
