The invention relates to a self reversible reverse latex that includes: 50% to 70% of a cross linked polyelectrolyte that is obtained by means of polymerization of a monomer of formula (I) with R1 being 8 to 20 carbon atoms and 1 = n = 30 for a neutral monomer and a monomer comprising an acid function 4% to 10% of a water in oil emulsifier 1% to 10% of an oil in water emulsifier including a nonzero mass ratio of a surface active composition (C) that for 100 mol% contains = 10% to = 50% of a composition (C) including for 100% 60% to 100% of a composition of formula (II) with R2 being an alkyl having 12 carbon atoms T T and T being H or a ( CH CH 0 ) H radical and mi = 0 and = 10 with ?mi > 0 and = 10 = 50% to = 90% of a composition (C) including for 100% 60% to 100% of a compound of formula (III) or mixtures of (III) and (IV) with R2 being an alkyl having 12 carbon atoms T T T and T being H or ( CH CH 0 ) H and mi = 0 and = 10 with ?mi > 0 and = 10 15% to 45% oil and 0% to 5% water. The invention also relates to the use of said self reversible reverse latex as a thickener.
