Here, the composite comprises: a monolayer-coated nanoparticle, a pharmaceutical agent, and a targeting molecule. The lipid monolayer-coated nanoparticle comprises a core including a biodegradable polymer and a lipid monolayer coating the core. The pharmaceutical agent is present in the core including the biodegradable polymer.
