PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector module for an imaging system such as a CT system, and to provide a method for manufacturing the detector module.SOLUTION: A detector module includes an array of direct conversion sensors 302 each having a first face 306 and a second face 308. The first face 306 of the direct conversion sensor 302 includes segmented electrode planes 314 forming an array of pixels each of which receives radiation and converts the received radiation into a corresponding charge signal, and the second face 308 includes a common electrode plane. The detector module includes a reading electronic circuit connected to one or more direct conversion sensors and the reading electronic circuit is shielded from radiation.
