PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an installation area of an MRI apparatus which an increase as the range of a leakage magnetic field of 0.5 mT by field high magnetization increases.
SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus including: static magnetic field generating means for giving a subject a static magnetic field gradient magnetic field generating means for giving the subject a gradient magnetic field a transmission system for radiating a high frequency magnetic field for having nuclear magnetic resonance occur to an atom core of a biological tissue of the subject a reception system for detecting an echo signal emitted by the nuclear magnetic resonance a signal processing system for performing image operation using the echo signal detected by the reception system and controlling operation of the whole apparatus a display means for displaying an obtained image and a power supply for supplying power necessary for the operation of the whole apparatus. In this apparatus, in a range where the leakage magnetic field is larger than 0.5mT, the signal processing system to which a magnetic shield is applied and the power supply are placed.
