The present invention discloses composition and methods for reducing the weight loss and/or preserving the natural gloss of post-harvest edible plant matter. In particular, the methods comprising applying to the surface of the plant matter a composition comprising an edible wax having a melting temperature below 70ºC a hydrocolloid a fatty acid an emulsifier and water, wherein said edible wax is present in a weight percent ranging from about 10% to about 25% of the total weight of the composition.La présente invention concerne une composition et des méthodes de réduction de la perte de poids et/ou de conservation de la brillance naturelle dune matière végétale comestible après récolte. En particulier, les méthodes consistent à appliquer, sur la surface de la matière végétale, une composition comprenant une cire comestible ayant une température de fusion inférieure à 70°C un hydrocolloïde un acide gras un émulsifiant et de leau, ladite cire comestible étant présente dans une fourchette de pourcentage en poids allant denviron 10 % à environ 25 % du poids total de la composition.
