The method comprises: a mower obtains a control instruction sent by a remote client, the control instruction comprising area and region information of a lawn and movement path information, the area and region information of the lawn being used for indicating the area and the region of the lawn corresponding to mowing work, and the work path information being used for indicating a movement path corresponding to the mowing work; the mower moves along the movement path in the area and the region of the lawn according to the control instruction, and carries on the corresponding mowing work in the movement process; and during the movement, the mower also obtains an on-site image by means of a camera, and sends the on-site image to the remote client in real time. The mower can also automatically perform mowing work without hands-on operations of a user, thereby reducing labor costs and improving user experience.
