PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image processing apparatus and a medical image processing method which, in a case where an operator advances a catheter, prevent a rendering image superimposed on a fluoroscopic image from interfering with the operation and allow the operator to conduct an operation smoothly.SOLUTION: The medical image processing apparatus includes: a generation part which generates a superimposed image in which an image based on volume data of a subject is superimposed on an X-ray image obtained by imaging the subject with X-rays and a position acquisition part which acquires information of the position of a device.
