PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a longer lasting compositions that can be used to moisten the oral cavity and reduce dry mouth, for diseases of the oral cavity such as xerostomia.SOLUTION: An aqueous oral care composition comprises: about 0.01 to about 0.5 wt.% of xanthan gum about 0.01 to about 0.5 wt.% of cellulose gum about 0.01 to about 0.5 wt.% of carbomer and an orally acceptable aqueous carrier. The aqueous oral care composition has a Flow Rate Index of less than 0.85.
