The invention relates to a method for producing a single-filament stent from a filament (10) having a first end (11) and a second free end (12), wherein, starting from the first end (11), a filament (10) is wound onto a braiding core (2) with a longitudinal axis (X) in a spiral manner in the form of windings (13) between at least one first deflection means (26) in a proximal end region (21) and at least one second deflection means (27) in a distal end region (22), and the filament (10) is placed in a crossed-over position (14) at at least one crossing point and introduced into a crossed-under position (15) at at least one crossing point, characterised by the following method steps for creating a crossed-under formation (15): placing a winding (13) onto the braiding core (2) until reaching a crossing point; introducing and pushing in the second free end (12) of the filament (10) in an insertion direction (S) through a guide opening (25) in the braiding core (2), arranged substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (X); and receiving and pulling the filament (10) through the guide opening (25).
