PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rigid tissue alternative carrier material (artificial bone material) having shape imparting properties, operability, safety properties and biocompatibility.
SOLUTION: The rigid tissue alternative carrier material of this invention is made of octacalcium phosphate (OCP) and a collagen. The shape imparting properties which are difficult to attain with OCP alone are provided by making OCP to a complex with the collagen, and OCP can be utilized for a wide range of defective bone parts or the like. Furthermore, the complex has an excellent bone forming ability of OCP, and is a biocompatible artificial material replaceable to an autologous bone transplantation without quantitative restriction.
