PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body height detection device which can accurately detect the body height of an operator in an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A body height detection device contained an image forming apparatus 1: has two or more thermopile elements 81 disposed in a two-dimensional array form is configured such that a temperature detection surface is longitudinally and laterally divided into multiple regions, the thermopile elements 81 detecting temperature in the multiple regions, respectively and includes a thermopile array sensor 80 disposed at a predetermined height from a floor surface with a temperature detection surface oriented toward a front, and a signal processing unit 101 for receiving temperature detection signals that are output from the thermopile elements 81 and performing signal processing.
