A connector and method of use are disclosed for providing a current flowpath between a charge storage device of an electrical pulse generator and one or more windings in a magnetic stimulation coil arrangement. This may be a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) arrangement. The connector comprises two wires, each comprising a plurality of individually insulated threads. One wire, having first threads 10, carries current from the device to the winding(s), and another, having second threads 12, carries current from the winding(s) to the generator. One or more detectors 20 detect a fault by detecting electrical imbalance between a pair of first and second threads. Cable losses may thereby be reduced. There may be a detector for each pair of threads. Each detector may be a transformer, possibly comprising a split loop (figure 5(d)), having at least one turn between two terminals. Voltage across the terminals may be monitored.
