The disclosure provides a class of pH-sensitive, helix/random conformation switchable antimicrobial polypeptide (HRS-AMP) compositions as a single agent to selectively kill bacteria (e.g., H. pylori) under acidic condition in the stomach with diminished bacterial resistance compared to currently used antibiotics. Methods of treating bacterial infections in the stomach are also provided.Linvention concerne une classe de polypeptide antimicrobien commutable à conformation hélicoïdale/aléatoire sensible au pH (HRS-AMP), des compositions utiles en tant quagent unique pour tuer sélectivement des bactéries (par exemple, H. pylori) dans des conditions acides dans lestomac avec une résistance bactérienne réduite par comparaison aux antibiotiques couramment utilisés. Linvention concerne également des méthodes de traitement dinfections bactériennes dans lestomac.
