PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new tools and method for the design, generation, and use of toxin A and toxin B from Clostridium difficile, which is a major cause of nosocomial infection antibiotic-associated diarrhea.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there is provided an isolated polypeptide C-TAB comprising 19 repeat units (RU) of Clostridium difficile toxin A and 23 repeat units (RU) of Clostridium difficile toxin B or a peptide fragment or variant thereof, or an isolated polypeptide having at least 95% sequence identity to C-TAB. According to the present invention, there is also provided an immunogenic composition or vaccine composition for inducing an immune response against Clostridium difficile toxin A and B, the composition comprising the isolated polypeptide and being capable of inducing an immune response against Clostridium difficile toxin A and B.SELECTED DRAWING: None
