DILUENT FOR FROZEN HUMAN SPERM, DILUTION METHOD FOR FROZEN HUMAN SPERM, AND ADJUSTMENT METHOD FOR HUMAN SEMEN FOR IN VITRO FERTILIZATION OR SEMEN FOR ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION
Provided are a diluent for human frozen spermatozoa that allows suppression of a decrease in sperm motility after thawing human frozen spermatozoa, a method for diluting human frozen spermatozoa, and a method for preparing semen for in vitro fertilization or semen for artificial insemination in humans. The diluent for human frozen spermatozoa comprises a chelating agent that forms a complex with a calcium ion, and has a pH of not less than 6.75 and less than 7.4. The chelating agent is preferably EGTA, and preferably has a pH of 6.9 to 7.1. In the method for diluting human frozen spermatozoa, human frozen spermatozoa are thawed and mixed with the diluent for human frozen spermatozoa. The spermatozoa are separated from the diluent for human frozen spermatozoa within a predetermined period of time after thawing of the spermatozoa.
