A device for delivering a medicament into a body of a patient by injection into or through a skin surface of the patient, comprising:a housing having a bottom surface adapted to contact a skin surface of a patient, the bottom surface having an aperture；a needle adapted for penetration of the skin surface and for movement through aperture；a reservoir, disposed within the housing, for containing the medicament；a needle holder (1000) for holding the needle；an activation button slidably diposed with the device；an adhesive skin sensing pull-out safety member (1006)； andat least one shield configured to be held in place by the safety member, the shield comprising a ramp (1004) configured to contact and raise the needle holder to retract the needle into the device；wherein the shield is urged to move relative to the bottom surface from a position exposing the needle into a position to at least partially cover the needle or the aperture.
