Use of active substance combinations comprising (A) isotianil and (I) a neonicotinyl comprising e.g. imidacloprid or thiacloprid, (II) a carbamate derivative comprising e.g. benfuracarb or furathiocarb, (III) a phenyl-pyrazole-derivative comprising fipronil or ethiprole, (IV) a pyrethroid comprising cycloprothrin, (V) a pyrethroid derivative comprising etofenprox or silafluofen, (VI) a dithiol derivative comprising cartap, (VII) a triazine derivative comprising pymetrozine and/or (VIII) a macrolide derivative comprising spinosad or spinetoram, is claimed. Use of active substance combinations comprising (A) isotianil and (I) a neonicotinyl comprising imidacloprid, thiacloprid, thiamethoxam, clothianidin, nitenpyram, dinotefuran, acetamiprid, imidaclothiz or 1-[(2-chloro-5-thiazolyl)methyl]tetrahydro-3,5-dimethyl-N-nitro-1,3,5-triazin-2(1H)-imine, (II) a carbamate derivative comprising benfuracarb, furathiocarb, carbofuran or carbosulfan, (III) a phenyl-pyrazole-derivative comprising fipronil or ethiprole, (IV) a pyrethroid comprising cycloprothrin, (V) a pyrethroid derivative comprising etofenprox or silafluofen, (VI) a dithiol derivative comprising cartap, (VII) a triazine derivative comprising pymetrozine and/or (VIII) a macrolide derivative comprising spinosad or spinetoram, and a diluent and/or a surface active agent, for combating animal parasites, is claimed. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for combating animal parasites, comprising applying the active substance combinations on the animal parasites and/or their habitats (2) the production of a seed that is protected before the damage caused by animal parasites or a seed, which protects the plants resulting from the seed, before the damage caused by animal parasites, comprising applying the active substance combinations on the seeds and (3) a seed, which is treated with the active substance combinations.
