PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cadmium-absorption inhibitor for paddy rice reducing a cadmium absorption amount in paddy rice within an ordinary cultivation management without any specific treatment. SOLUTION: The cadmium-absorption inhibitor for paddy rice comprises lime nitrogen having 10-35 mass% of an elusion amount of a nitrogen component when soaked in 10 fold volume of pure water in non-stirred state at 25°C based on the whole of the nitrogen component quantity. The method for cultivating paddy rice using the inhibitor comprises applying the cadmium-absorption inhibitor to paddy rice at 100-400 kg per 1 hectare before transplanting the paddy rice into a rice field followed by always keeping the rice field flooded. In this method, it is preferable that alkaline feed other than the lime nitrogen and/or a soil amendment material at≤3,000 kg (excluding 0 kg) are used together with the inhibitor.
