PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably prevent the occurrence of wear, damages or the like in members disposed on the sides of the side frames of a reel body.SOLUTION: This fishing reel includes: a crutch mechanism which is disposed in the reel body 1 and is used for switching a spool 5a to a power transmission state or a power non-transmission state by the movement operation of an operation member； and a slide-contact member 40B attached to the portion facing the operation member on one side of a side frame 2b and slidably contacting the operation member.
