PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for endoscope and an endoscope system which allow in a situation where one can be selected from among a plurality of lighting modes, calculating the driving capability of a supply source in each lighting mode and notifying a user of the driving capability.SOLUTION: A light source device 10 comprises: a detection unit 53 for detecting a remaining capacity and a prediction calculation unit 55 for calculating a predicted value of a capacity consumption rate representing the rate at which the capacity of a supply source 51 is consumed in each mode within a predetermined period of time.
