The present invention relates to an antiviral composition against the hepatitis B virus, comprising interleukin-32 (IL-32) as an active ingredient, which is an inhibitor inhibiting the expression or activity of hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 alpha (HNF4α) or hepatocyte nuclear factor 1 alpha (HNF1α), and to a method for screening an antiviral material against the virus. The present inventors have found that the secretion of IL-32 is induced by TNF-α and IFN-γ cytokines that are secreted from the infected cells when host cells are infected with the hepatitis B virus； and the secreted IL-32 increases the phosphorylation of ERK1/2, thereby reducing the expression of HNF4α and HNF1α, which are transcription factors of the host involved in the transcription of the viral genes, and thus the present inventors have experimentally confirmed the inhibitory effect on DNA cloning and gene expression of the virus, and have identified the antiviral effects of IL-32 mediated hepatitis B virus and a molecular mechanism thereof. Accordingly, the antiviral ability of IL-32 against the hepatitis B virus, newly identified according to the present invention, provides a new understanding for the development of treatment agents for the virus, and may be beneficially used in the development of antiviral therapeutic agents.HNF4α(Hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 alpha) 또는 HNF1α(Hepatocyte nuclear factor 1 alpha)의 발현 또는 활성 억제제인 인터루킨-32(IL-32)를 유효성분으로 포함하는, B형 간염 바이러스에 대한 항바이러스용 조성물 및 상기 바이러스에 대한 항바이러스 물질 스크리닝 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명자들은 B형 간염 바이러스에 숙주세포가 감염되었을 때 감염세포에서 분비되는 TNF-α 및 IFN-γ 사이토카인에 의해 IL-32의 분비가 유도되고, 분비된 IL-32는 ERK1/2의 인산화를 증가시킴으로써 상기 바이러스 유전자의 전사에 관여하는 숙주의 전사인자인 HNF4α 및 HNF1α의 발현을 감소시킴으로써 상기 바이러스의 DNA 복제 및 유전자 발현 저해효과를 실험적으로 확인하였는바, IL-32 매개 B형 간염 바이러스에 대한 항바이러스 효과 및 이의 분자적 기전을 규명하였다. 따라서 본 발명에 따라 신규하게 규명된 B형 간염 바이러스에 대한 IL-32의 항바이러스능은 상기 바이러스에 대한 치료제 개발을 위한 새로운 이해를 제공하며, 항바이러스 치료제제 개발에 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것이다.
