The invention relates to a natural deodorant composition offering real effectiveness without resorting to the chemical active agents usually used in conventional deodorants. A deodorant lotion for preventing perspiration odors in the axillary region over a long period of time has been formulated to achieve the objects of this invention, a lotion having a pH of from 2 to 5 which contains, in order of weight of water, 80 to 90%, glycerin in a proportion of 6 to 9%, lactic acid in a proportion of 3 to 5%, a lactobacillus ferment in the proportion of 1 to 4%, a saccharomyces ferment in the proportion of 0.5 to 3%, potassium sulphite in the proportion of 0.05% and 1%, benzyl alcohol in the proportion of 0.3 to 0.7%, a perfume element in the proportion of 0 , 5%, dehydrocetic acid of 0.02 to 0.08%. The deodorant composition according to the invention can be used alone as a topical treatment against perspiration odors or added to the formula of a cosmetic product in order to add a deodorant function to it.
