Provided are, inter alia, a guide device able to immediately and reliably shield against a magnetic field generated by a permanent magnet if a contingency has occurred when a capsule-type medical device is being guided. A guide device is provided with: a permanent magnet (110) a support mechanism for supporting the permanent magnet so as to be movable along the vertical direction, the support mechanism supporting the permanent magnet between a first position that is the lowest position of the movable range of the permanent magnet and a second position at which a capsule-type medical device can be guided by a magnetic field generated by the permanent magnet a motor (124) for moving the permanent magnet on the basis of power supplied from the exterior a housing (111) in which the permanent magnet can be housed cover sections (113, 114) provided to the housing and a shield member movement mechanism for moving the cover sections between a shielding position and a non-shielding position, in concert with the movement of the permanent magnet in the vertical direction. When the supply of power to the motor is stopped, the permanent magnet moves to the first position, and the cover sections move to the shielding position.Linvention concerne, entre autres, un dispositif de guidage capable de protection immédiate et fiable contre un champ magnétique généré par un aimant permanent lorsquun événement imprévu se produit pendant le guidage dun dispositif médical de type capsule.
